YES! is happy to be a place where you can drop off your hard-to-recycle items, but there have been some updates to the program — including pricing/fee updates & some other fine print — so read on for details!

✨The Highlights :

  • We've expanded our list of partners, which now includes Black Earth Compost, ReCork, Staples, SUS, and Terracycle

  • We are now accepting old (clean, dry, and mildew-free) tarps and tents

  • We are now accepting Rx bottles (fees may apply; see below for details)

  • We are once again accepting empty (and residue-free) deodorant containers, as well as contact lens storage cases and (foil-free) single-use lens blister packs (fees may apply; see below for details)

  • Cork pricing has gone up to $1.95/lb, reflecting rising shipping costs on our end

Most of what's listed below is still completely free, but a few items come with a small fee
to help cover real costs on our end (shipping, partner fees, etc.).

🔔 Please Note:

  • If it's not listed below, we don't take it.

  • We only accept drop-offs during business hours - please don’t leave items/bags at our door when we are closed.

  • Some items have specific requirements (clean, dry, foil-free, etc.) — please check details for each item below before dropping off.

  • Everything here is something your curbside bin can't take — if it belongs in curbside recycling, please recycle it there instead!

  • As always, if you have a large quantity of any item, please call ahead to confirm we can accommodate your drop-off.

  • Unfortunately, we don't have any control over partner programs being discontinued 😕, but we keep our newsletter subscribers apprised of any recycling program closures or new collection options (sign up here to ensure you are among the first to know of any changes).

Backpacks, Tents & Tarps

Used or unused bags, backpacks, duffel bags, or fanny packs. SUS will clean & repair it (if needed), then get it to someone who can use it.

Old tents and tarps are welcome too — SUS upcycles these into new gear like wallets, totes, toiletry bags and more.

NOTE: Tents and tarps must be clean and dry — we cannot accept damp, mildewy, or dirty materials.

NOTE: Pouches do not need to be rinsed, but should be empty; please also be sure to keep the caps ON!

All brands of empty toothpaste tubes & caps, toothbrushes, toothbrush outer packaging, and floss containers.

Free to Recycle with a Purchase

Eye Care, Rx & Deodorant Containers

Reusable contact lens storage cases, single-use contact lens blister packages (foil removed*), Rx bottles, and empty deodorant containers (residue-free, please!).

Fee: Free with any in-store purchase OR $1.50/lb

*NOTE: Contact lens blister packs with foil will not be accepted

Always a Fee to Recycle

Cork

Natural cork only, please — no synthetic or "fake" corks. To find out which wine brands use natural corks, and which ones don’t, click HERE.

Fee: $1.95/lb to cover the cost of shipping the corks to California

NOTE: Please remove all plastic, wire, foil, and any other foreign materials from your corks before dropping at the store.

We DO NOT accept:

  • Any items that can be recycled curbside

  • Black plastic take out containers

  • Bubble mailers or bubble wrap

  • Compostable materials

  • Disposable dining items

  • Laminated or layered paper containers (i.e. milk & juice cartons)

  • Mouthwash bottles

  • Packing peanuts of any kind

  • Plastic bags

  • Tetrapaks
