Rapt Gift Wrap Pop-Up

Most wrapping paper gets used once and tossed; Rapt's fabric wrap gets reused, regifted, and passed down for years. Honestly, it's like someone took everything YES! stands for and tied it up with a bow.

Join us Thursday, October 8, from 5–9pm for a Rapt Gift Wrap pop-up at YES! during the Belmont Sip & Stroll.

Rapt was started by Monica O'Neil and Cindy Estes, two local moms who met at the playground. With seven kids and fifteen years of birthday parties and holidays between them, they saw how much wrapping waste every celebration creates and decided to do something about it. After trying everything from velcro to snap tape, they found the best answer in furoshiki, the Japanese tradition of wrapping with cloth. The custom goes back as far as the 7th century, and it's still a lovely way to give a gift.

Rapt sheets are produced locally and made from deadstock, reclaimed, and remnant fabrics, yarns, and ribbons whenever possible. Each one is finished with a one-of-a-kind accent made from scrap fabric and yarn. They're made to be heirlooms; the wrap becomes part of the gift.

Come shop, sip, stroll, and get a head start on holiday wrapping that doesn't end up in the trash.
